Starting School with Confidence

The transition from preschool or kindergarten to primary school is an exciting milestone and at Templestowe Valley Primary School, we do everything we can to make it a smooth and happy experience for every child.

Our Flying Start Program (Prep Transition Program) provides seven orientation sessions where children can meet their teachers, make new friends, and become familiar with their new learning environment before their first day of school.

We also offer a variety of fun and supportive transition activities, including:

• Orientation days
• Meet ‘n’ Greet sessions
• Buddies ‘n’ BBQ afternoon
• Big Friends and Little Friends (Prep students paired with Year 6 students)
• 100 Days of School celebration
• Opportunities for parents and carers to participate in classroom activities

Flying Start Program (Prep Transition Program)

Our Flying Start Program is open to all children who are preparing to begin school, even if you haven’t yet finalised your enrolment. Through seven sessions, children explore our school, meet our teachers, get an opportunity to meet and play with other students and experience what learning at Templestowe Valley Primary School is all about. 

It’s a wonderful way to help your child feel comfortable, connected and ready for their exciting first year of school. Families can simply register their interest to take part.
