Students are encouraged to develop and demonstrate leadership skills throughout their time at Templestowe Valley Primary School.
Opportunities for leadership range from serving as a grade representative on the Junior School Council (JSC) to taking on roles as Sustainability Leaders, STEM Leaders, Performing Arts Leaders, Visual Arts Leaders or Mandarin Language Leaders.
At the helm of our school’s leadership structure are the Grade 6 student leaders — two from each of our four Houses: Birchwood, Cavendish, Newbury and Thompson. These House Leaders, along with our JSC Leaders, form the core Student Leaders Group, guiding the student body in various capacities. From running our weekly assembly to leading school tours and representing TVPS at external engagements such as the annual Schools’ ANZAC Service, our leaders take great pride in their roles.
Our student leaders exemplify pride, responsibility and teamwork, and play an indispensable role in shaping our vibrant school community.
All students at TVPS have a pathway to leadership through class roles, JSC, House positions and up to school captains.
